Gingerbread Progress

Took a small break for dinner and let my little guys cool off. :) They turned out just right which I am so stoked about because a friend of mine had tried the same mix and it didn't work out so well. :( I didn't find out it was the same mix until I sent her a pic of what I was about to try only to find out that's what she had used. Anyway.... as you can see they are coming along nicely and I'm ready to frost! I also wanted to share with you my favorite new holiday treat (also from W&S).

I have to admit that I bought these partially because they looked so darn cute and I wanted to reuse the jar. I was pleasantly surprised that they taste amazing! Off to frost the gingerbread men and snowflakes.

I wasn't very patient with the frosting because I've got some things to do around the house tonight so maybe I will give it another shot tomorrow. There's a preview of the couple of cookies I actually decorated. I still have so many left!

No-School Monday!

Today has been all kinds of fun. I slept in a little and texted my bestie because we made morning plans last night when the BBQ was over. We had purchased some Halloween flowers that we wanted to make into hair clips so we made a coffee/crafting date for this morning. Sara grabbed some more hair clips and some Starbucks and come over. We had so much fun creating more flowers that we even planed on making. It was fun experimenting with different materials and just putting the flowers together in different ways. By the end of the morning we were deconstructing and reconstructiong flowers. It was a blast! We have a few more crafting ideas to try out soon... maybe next weekend. Here is what we made today:

iPad photos...

This gadget is beautiful! I took some quick photos just to post. I didn't bother trying to figure out how to get rid of the glare on all of the pretty shiny things but you get the picture. I love being able to sit on the couch and do almost everything I would on my desktop with a much lighter device than my MacBook. If you are an avid traveler this is a must have. I'm now wishing we had bought it before our European vacation because it would have been nice to have.

We got a pretty basic case for now. I wasn't in love with any of the more protective cases Best Buy had to offer. This will do for now.

Photos really look amazing on this screen. I will definitely be taking this to my parents house every Sunday night to show off any new photos I have. I've been using my iPhone just because it's convenient but this quality blows away the iPhone4.

Plenty of Apple <3 in this household. a few things not even pictured: our gunmetal gray iPods, Brad's iPhone and my old MacBook. I've totally converted Brad and we will never buy any computers that are not Apple. I hope my school switches over eventually so I can have iMacs in my classroom.

Blogging from my new iPad! It's so damn neat. Brad was going to get me one for Christmas but decided to give it to me early as a late anniversary gift. :) I'm one happy girl.

The Most Perfect Ring

It seems like I've been getting a lot of compliments on my now year old wedding ring. ❤ While we were in Europe there was at least one person in each city who gave me a compliment on it. Most people comment on how unique it is and how they love the vintage look it has. It makes me smile because that's exactly what I was going for. You can't see in this picture all of the detail on the side but it's definitely a one of a kind ring.... literally... my husband custom designed it so that no other girl would have one like it. :) He knows me well. I don't like to look or act like everyone else. I tend to put my own spin on everything I do/wear and a wedding ring is no exception.

1st year wedding anniversary is tomorrow!

Since we are leaving for Europe before we'd be able to finish a cake like this we are going to share it with my family tonight. <3 I'm so excited to celebrate a year of marriage and 4 years together with the most amazing, caring and best man in the world. Here's to many many many more!

I love this live feed. It's currently 10:50 pm and after watching for a few minutes I've already witnessed one group walk across the crossing and take photos. :) 

I prefer still life photography sometimes because taking photos of objects is actually more fun for me. I enjoy capturing emotions when I take photos of people but there are some days when I'd love to not see a single person {aside from my hubby-he's never on the annoying people list which is why I married him}. Humanity continues to shock me in more ways than one.
