Tonight's the Night

I'm going to mix up some Pina Gouladas and break in (I use the word 'break' lightly) my new glassware. :p Excited to unwind and even get a professional facial from one of my good friends. The three of us are going to watch the movie "Nine" as well.

I can't believe the year is winding down. I'm ready for 2011! Exciting stuff around the corner. I love all of my family and friends and I know there are some exciting things coming up for them as well. It's nice growing up together with a solid core of honest people. The rest... just don't really matter. ;)

Project: Bath Cabinets

Decided to tackle to front bathroom cabinets over break and today felt like a good day to start! There's the before. I absolutely hate brown/wood colored cabinets. They're so boring looking to me because this is the standard color in pretty much every house built in the 90's and on. We don't own any brown furniture so it makes no sense to leave these brown. Painting the kitchen last year made such a huge difference. I got a late start so I've primered the cabinets. Tomorrow I will get to the fun part... The black. :)



Two must haves when doing home projects. {power tools and coffee}



Fun times! I love doing this all by myself. It's fun to be independent and show my hubby I can get stuff done all by myself. ;) Time to get showered and ready to meet some friends downtown for dinner!

Still putting away gifts..

It's so fun using all the new stuff we got! I already set up the wireless speaker system and i am loving it. Next on the list are these:



My mom got me some awesome Pina Colada glassware. I planned a mini girls night thus week so we can break them in.



Even the pets get spoiled in my family. Inside their goodie bags they each got their own gift card. :p

Remembering "The Hills"

MTV is playing "The Hills from the beginning" and the timing could't be more perfect. As the year is winding down I'm reflecting on this past year. Seeing Lauren deal with friends entering and exiting her life kind of reminds me of mine these days. I'm learning now which friends I can and cannot trust. I'm finding that some are just not honest while others are complete liars. It's sad to learn that someone I've invested time in can turn out to be someone who basically has cruel intentions. I will delve into this topic some more on my private blog sometime before the new year. ;)

I have a sweet husband <3

Envelope that held my Beatles iTunes card. I'm still cracking up at the fact that we got each other the same thing. Birds of a feather for sure.






This little box held a few other gifts of mine. It's cute that teacher stuff makes him think of me. :]
Listening to iTunes on the new wireless speaker system that he got me. I'm so happy that I can listen to everything that's on the computer in any room {or even backyard}!

Small Break

My niece is so dang cute and she's got a really funny personality.

X-Mas Eve

We just had the best evening with my parents. Dinner and a movie followed by gifts, games and my mom's famous cheese tray. They spoiled us beyond belief and we are super lucky to have such great parents. We played the new games they got us and I'm exhausted. Time to catch some Zzzzs so we are rested for a day of fun with Brad's family! Hope everyone is having a great Christmas!

Musical Epiphany

It's safe to say that anything with a double bass drum pedal and cookie monster vocals would not be my cup of tea. I am a fan of many different genres but new metal and hardcore just sounds like a mess to me. I know there is a huge fan base for this type of music but I will probably never understand it.

Gingerbread Progress

Took a small break for dinner and let my little guys cool off. :) They turned out just right which I am so stoked about because a friend of mine had tried the same mix and it didn't work out so well. :( I didn't find out it was the same mix until I sent her a pic of what I was about to try only to find out that's what she had used. Anyway.... as you can see they are coming along nicely and I'm ready to frost! I also wanted to share with you my favorite new holiday treat (also from W&S).

I have to admit that I bought these partially because they looked so darn cute and I wanted to reuse the jar. I was pleasantly surprised that they taste amazing! Off to frost the gingerbread men and snowflakes.

I wasn't very patient with the frosting because I've got some things to do around the house tonight so maybe I will give it another shot tomorrow. There's a preview of the couple of cookies I actually decorated. I still have so many left!

The Waiting Game

Time to wait for my Gingerbread Dough to chill. I attempted homemade dough last year and it didn't turn out that well so I went ahead and grabbed some dough mix while I was picking up some fun stuff at Williams-Sonoma today. I love that store. Alyssa and I went there to grab some gifts but we both ended up buying ourselves a few things too. :) I'm getting so excited to spend time with our families in the next two days!! I can't wait for everyone to open their gifts that I got them. I will post more photos if the cookies turn out.

Another downpour!

On our way home it started raining so much!!! Good luck to those in the Campus Park area. Saw how flooded it was last night and it didn't even rain yesterday!! Glad our neighborhood seems to have proper drainage. *crossing fingers that it continues to do so*
